ISSAC’S SORROW AND DAISY’S SMILE
The day started to close its eyes slightly, to fall into a deep sleep. Birds and animals has already begun to return to their own families. People started rushing to their homes. And, Daisy Lewis closed her handbag to return to her home, from the Elder care she is working. She did not forget to say ‘Good Bye’ and ‘Good Night’ to her patients in the Elder care as usual.
Everyone replied the same to her. But, Mr. Isaac Abraham replied ‘Bye’ and added a ‘May God Bless and keep you and family’, unusual, with his weak voice. She wondered for a moment hearing the unusual thing, but suddenly responded ‘’OK, Thank you’ with an expression that tells, she got the reason for his unusual reply. She then hurried to the railway station by catching a taxi.
She took her train and sat nearby a window. When the train started to move, she heard a sound from her unconscious mind saying ‘Bye, May God Bless and keep you and family’. Her memories started flashing through the things Mr.Issac shared her on the day time, and her thoughts blocked with the miserable things he shared. She felt very sad on thinking his situation.
She came to know his story, unusually and unfortunately spending some personal time with Mr.Issac after her forenoon works. It happened due to the sudden tiredness Mr.Issac felt  while walking through the garden. Isaac called her for help and she rush to the garden and help him to be seated on the nearest bench. She then provided him some essential medicines and this special care ignited a small conversation among them.
From that she came to know that, Mr.Issac Isaac was a well educated man and a professor retired 15 years ahead, from the university of Cambridge. He got divorced with his first wife when he was 40 and the second wife died when he was 58. His son and daughter in his first wife left him after his second marriage and his only son in his second wife left him before he retired. Now he got no children and no relatives to take care of him.
He shared about his past and the life of his parents and grand parents. While he was a child and when his grand parents were old, all their nine sons and daughters were there to take care of them. On those days, their children find personal time to take care of them, along with their other activities. They give value to their parents and relations. When his parents were old, he and two among his four brothers and sisters were there to serve them. And he is sad to mention that in his time, no one out of his three children are there to serve and to take care of him and he cannot even imagine the situation of the next generation.
He can still smell the fresh paint of the happiest moments his grand parents shared with him and his siblings. And today he is ignorant about his grand children and he doesn’t even know clearly that he had a one for he has not seen them yet. It’s very hard for him to believe that the world is growing very fast through a modern age of technology and culture, which is transforming from generations to generations.
The most amazing thing is that he is aware of this generation’s fault which is the cause of all these things, while many others are still ignorant. He accepted his mistake to forget teaching his children the importance of relationships and love. It is also a result caused by skipping to spend some quality time with children, rather than only providing their requirements. It is about forgetting to tell children about the importance of prayer and fear of God. It is due to skipping to teach and show them that loving their God and parents are far more important than love of money and love of world.
On thinking about these things the train reached in her station and Daisy went to her home with some strong decisions in her heart. She confessed in her heart that she will take care of her parents when they are old and will teach her children the importance of love and fear of God in their life. And she thanked God for those good decisions for she knew that sooner or later it will change her and her children’s attitude. She entered her house with a smile from her heart to begin a new life.
